Dala Hard Court: Imeh Sets Up Epic Final With Otu As Samuel Knocks Out Adegoke

Joseph Imeh who seems poised to win the ongoing Dala Hard Court Championship in Kano, has breezed into the final of the tournament where he will be facing off with old foe, Thomas Otu, Nigerian Tennis Live reports.

Imeh defeated an impressive Uche Oparaoze in two straight sets of 6-2, 6-1 just as Otu sent another impressive player, Emmanuel Idoko packing, winning 6-2, 6-4 to set up an epic grand finale scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, 25 November, 2017.

Imeh and Otu will lock horns on Saturday, 25 November to determine the winner of the 2017 Dala Hard Court Championship.

Nigerian Tennis Live recalls that Imeh smashed his racket at the Ekiti All Nigeria Tennis Open in 2014 after being frustrated by Otu’s gimmicks on the court during their semifinal match. But both players have since moved on and Imeh has come of age ever since.

In the Women’s Singles, it was a tale of revenge for Blessing Samuel, 2016 losing finalist as she got the better of Sarah Adegoke, who had only just returned from Senegal after an unimpressive outing at the Women ITF Circuit in the West African region.

The Abuja-based Samuel who was once Nigeria’s top player, smashed Adegoke in two straight sets, winning easily with a 6-1, 6-2 scoreline to underscore her stance as one of Nigeria’s best female tennis players.

In the Men’s Doubles, the combination of Abdulmumin Babalola and Shehu Lawal, arguably the best for a decade, were no match for the pair of  John Otu and Joseph Iyorovbe as they strolled to a 6-3, 6-2 win.

All eyes will be on the match between Imeh and Otu which promises to be a revenge for the lead player of Team Muller after seeing his teammate (Idoko) lose badly to the Ndoma Egba star man.

Nigerian Tennis Live shall publish updates from the final as soon as it is concluded on Saturday.
