VEMP Open: Daniel Adeleye Speaks Ahead Of His First Ever Senior Final
Daniel Adeleye will be playing a national senior tennis championship final for the first time ever when he takes on David Ekpenyong in the Men’s Singles final of the VEMP Open event.
The unseeded player who upset Henry Atseye, the tournament’s number two seed, in the first round of the competition, ensured he fought his way to the last day of the tournament.
Adeleye, Nigeria’s highest ranked player on the Junior ITF rankings, will take on Ekpenyong, Nigeria’s number one male tennis player, in what is expected to be a blockbuster encounter.
Recall that Ekpenyong had beaten his Nigerian counterpart a couple of times in Junior ITF events, and was the only Nigerian above his opponent before leaving for the seniors.

And when Nigeria Tennis Live asked how he was feeling ahead of the encounter, he had very few words to say as he appeared to be battle ready for the finale.
A highly focused Adeleye told our correspondent that he had very few words to say, before stating: “I don’t have so much to say other than to tell you to watch out for my best tomorrow”.
After winning a couple of titles in the junior cadre of tennis, perhaps, it’s high time the Nigerian teenager stepped up in the senior category among the very best players from across the country.
Nigeria Tennis Live will bring our followers and readers up to speed with the activities and update from Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital, where the action is scheduled to start after the Women’s Singles final between Anu Ayegbusi and Blessing Omotayo.
