Rainoil Tennis Open: Unstoppable Quadre Outshines Legendary Agugbom To Clinch 3rd Consecutive National Title

Oyinlomo Quadre, the undisputed Nigerian number one female tennis player, has added the Rainoil Tennis Open women’s singles title to  her growing trophy cabinet.

The 16-year-old Nigerian wonderkid matched legendary Christie Agugbom stroke for stroke and showed a superior skill in thrashing the former number one in a 6-1, 3-0 rtd game inside the Lagos Country Club premises, Ikeja.

Quadre, who’s yet to lose a game in the national tournaments she has participated in all year, bossed the game from start to finish and has now proven to be the best player in the country at the moment.

With this win, the African number four junior female tennis star has rewritten the history books in national tennis events in Nigeria.

The Morocco-based tennis prodigy is expected to proceed to Abuja for the year ending VEMP Open tennis championship, where she is expected to also dominate, and possibly win the competition.

After the defeat of Agugbom, Quadre has now successfully defeated almost all her tennis idols whom she says she has nothing but respect for.

In spite of her visa denial by the United States Embassy, the player did not get weighed down, rather, she picked herself up and got into an unassailable winning streak.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep up with updates from the player’s participation in other competitions as the 2020 season sets in.
