Rainoil Tennis Open: Babalola, Enosoregbe In Epic Battle As Junior Players Advance

The second round matches at the ongoing Rainoil Tennis Championship in Lagos will present Nigerian tennis followers with one of the matches to watch at the competition presently going on at the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja.

In one of the matches slated for Wednesday, 13 December, Abdulmumin Babalola and Clifford Enosoregbe, both from Team Civil Defence which recently won the NCC Tennis League, will face each other in a decider of who progresses to the quarter final of the competition.

It is one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament already, as people will be keen to see who is better between the ageless Babalola and the highly skillful Enosoregbe, especially because they would be playing on an unfamiliar surface; clay.

Abdulmumin Babalola will fancy his chances when he takes on fellow teammate, Clifford Enosoregbe in the second round of the ongoing Rainoil Tennis Championship.

The junior players in the tournament also proved their mettles as they progressed to the second round of the competition where they shall be playing against the big boys to try to advance beyond the second round.

Michael Osewa and Christopher Itodo, two of Nigeria’s highly rated junior players, will settle their score in the second round while Christopher Bulus will seek to defeat senior player Christian Paul to advance to the quarter final stage.

In other matches, Henry Atseye will play against Uche Oparaoji, Dala Hard Court winner, Thomas Otu will tackle Techvibe’s Michael Michael while Nigeria’s king of clay, Sylvester Emmanuel, will fancy his chances against Chima Michael as Joseph Imeh tackles Tochukwu Ezeh.

In the Women’s Singles, number one player, Sarah Adegoke will continue her fairytale run against Oluchi Ozurumba while Yankee-based Blessing Anuna will battle Omolayo Bamidele for a place in the quarter final.

Blessing Samuel, who pipped Adegoke to win the Dala Hard Court Women’s Singles will play against Bukola Olowu just as former national champion, Ronke Akingbade of ACES Tennis Academy will have her hands busy with has match against Omotayo Osewa.

Pretty Donatus Loveth will take on another beautiful tennis counterpart, Rose Abu while NCC Tennis League’s most improved female player, Patience Onemabhoin will trade tackle against Ngozi Dirisu among other matches on Wednesday.
