Quadre In ‘Emotional’ Clash With One Of Her Idols As Rainoil Tennis Women’s Singles Final Beckons
Few days after describing her as one of those Nigerians who make her proud to be a Nigerian tennis player, Oyinlomo Quadre will be clashing against Blessing Samuel in the semis of the Rainoil Tennis Open Championship.
Quadre had during an interview with Nigeria Tennis Live, mentioned Nigerian players whom she adored, added that she was particularly proud of Samuel’s exploits off the court too.
“But after playing tournaments and all, I also began to look up to Blessing Samuel, she’s a legend in the sport and I was always proud to be Nigerian everytime she was called number 1 or captain, this isn’t only based on tennis but mainly on attitude,” she had said.
The pair will now come up against each other in one of the semifinals of the Women’s Singles event at the competition holding inside the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja.
While Blessing had a tough match against another youngster, Marylove Edwards, dropping a set in the process, Quadre has been on a smooth ride.
There are chances that the African number four junior player will get a bit emotional about the match against one of the Nigerian players she adores.
That notwithstanding, the young Nigerian number one is expected to be at her very best when action resumes on the clay court where the competition is taking place.
