ITF U-18 Junior Circuit: Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Wins Second Title In Three Weeks

Oyinlomo Quadri, the Nigerian female tennis prodigy, has won her second title in three weeks of Junior ITF U-18 competition against world junior stars.

She defeated Divine Aneke from Denmark in two tough sets of 6-2, 7-6 (5) to emerge as the winner of their Singles final encounter on Saturday afternoon in Lome, Togo.

This win, Nigerian Tennis Live reports, will boost her ranking as she trudges on with her tennis development which has seen her move from Togo to Benin for another week of Junior ITF competition.

Oyinlomo Quadri has won her second Junior ITF Circuit title in three weeks.

Oyinlomo had shown grit and superior mental toughness in her first final in Ghana, where she defeated Egypt’s Yasmin Ezzat in three sets but could not maintain the momentum in the second leg held in Togo, where she lost to same opponent in the 3rd round of the competition.

The budding tennis sensation would later partner her Egyptian opponent in the Doubles final but they lost the match while Ezzat went ahead to win the Singles event.

As fate would have it, both players met in the quarterfinal of the third leg in Togo, and the Nigerian came out tops, defeating her stubborn opponent in the final set, to set the tone for a grand finale which she clinched in two straight sets.

The player who was once within touching distance of a berth at the Orange Bowl competition will now seek to build on her momentum as she starts the fourth leg of the Junior Circuit as one of the top players.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the player’s performance as the train has moved to Benin for another week of top ITF Junior competition.
