The Pair of Oyinlomo Quadri and Abayomi Phillips are presently flying Nigeria’s flag high in Benin Republic as they are representing the country with outstanding results in their singles matches at the ongoing ITF U-18 Junior Circuit in the West African region.

Nigerian Tennis Live gathered that while Phillips, seeded 15 for the Boys’ Singles at the competition defeated unseeded Moriamo Kpodeziaou from Benin in two straight sets of 6-4, 6-0 to qualify for the third round of the competition, Oyinlomo is already in the quarterfinal.

Abayomi Phillips is the only male player flying Nigeria’s flag high in Benin Republic.

The female youngster outplayed another, Bissola Lassissi, another Beninoise, in two straight sets of 6-1, 6-1 to set up a meeting against Carmine Becoude, the number four seed also from  Benin Republic.

Phillips who is the only Nigerian male player in the Singles event will now have to defeat Alex Lago, the number three seed from Cote D’Ivoire to stand a chance of playing in the last eight of the ITF competition.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the players’ performance for the remaining days the competition will last and report to our followers.
