Nigeria Tennis Live can reliably report that the Nigeria Tennis Federation is introducing a new national tournament for Nigerian tennis players.

This was confirmed to our correspondent by Makpa Aliyu, the Secretary General of the tennis federation, via a text on Thursday, 16 November, 2023.

According to him, the competition is slated to serve off on Thursday, 23 November, 2023, an indication that it will start with the preliminary rounds.

Nigeria Tennis Live also gathered that it is open to all tennis players in the federation but could not confirm the prize money for the competition.

Aliyu, when quizzed further on the details of the tournament, noted that “we are working on all the details but what II can confirm for you now is that it is an open tournament and that it will start on the 23rd.
