The semifinal pairings at the ongoing MP Tiger Tennis Foundation tournament in Lagos State is nothing short of a clash of titans, Nigeria Tennis Live can report.
The competition which served off on Tuesday, 31 October, has reached the semis in the Boys and Girls Youth categories as well as Boys and Girls 12 and 14 & Unders.
Abayomi Philip, one of the former top junior players, will have blossoming youngster, Abubakar Yusuf to contend with for a place in the final while Daniel Adeleye will battle fellow Ghana ITF Returnee Joseph Jimoh in the second semifinal.
In the girls youth semis, Blessing Otu will have to defeat Bose Bamidele to secure a place in the final where she will either face Destiny Okhinaye in a repeat of the Lagos Schools’ Tennis Championship final or square up against the Chidinma Ezeh.

Still buzzing from their semifinal finish at African Junior Championship in Morocco, Joel Michael will try to stop Quzeem Kushimo in the first boys 14 semis while Joel Benjamin from the Apapa Tennis Club will slug it out against Ozeni Ayoola in the second semis.
Relentless and effervescent Mofifunoluwa Atilola, who recently clocked ten will have top U-14 player Bright Emmanuel, to face in one of the girls U-14 semifinal matches.
The Lagos Lawn Tennis Club girl will have to be at her very best against Bright, ranked number one in Nigeria on the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) ranking, and gold medalist at the recent National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.

In the second girls 14 semifinal match Bright’s sister, Justina, will be up against fellow Apapa Tennis Club player, Ndifreke Benjamin as they look forward to an all-Apapa finale in the girls 14 & Unders category.
The other age categories will be starting on Friday, 3 November, 2023 as the MP Tiger competition, planned to help players prepare for the Dala Hard Court national championship gradually winds down.
