The seventh edition of the annual Adewale Isa Foundation, AIF National Junior Tennis Championship has served off in Lagos, Nigeria Tennis Live reports.
The tournament often regarded as the biggest national junior tennis event in Nigeria, attracts players from every part of Nigeria, and gathers arguably the largest gathering of tennis youngsters in a single venue in the country.
Players compete in the boys and girls U12, 14 & 16 categories for prizes worth millions of naira at the Adewale Isa tournament which has now become a household name in Nigeria and beyond.

As at the time of filing this report, Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that nearly 300 players had registered to participate in the event with the boys’ U-12 draw reaching 128 – synonymous to what is obtainable at a Grand Slam event.
Apart from the prizes for the winners and runner-ups, the AIF tournament also makes room for a back draw for payers who do not make it to the finals, and gives consolation prizes to some of them afterwards.
Alhaja Sikirat Adigun, the Chairperson of the AIF, was beaming with smiles as she welcomed the kids to the tennis section of the National Stadium, Surulere-Lagos, on the opening day of the seventh edition of the competition.

According to her: “seeing thee kids warms my heart and it just makes us so proud to be able to be give them this opportunity to compete in this manner.
“Our late dad would also be proud of this because that’s the legacy he left behind, to nurture world champions and ensure that they have a chance at becoming great.”
The AIF National Junior Tennis Championship which served off on Monday, 31 August, 2026, will reach its climax on Saturday, 5 September, inside the tennis section of the National Stadium, Surulere-Lagos.
