The much anticipated Rainoil Open Tennis Championship is set to finally make a return to the Nigerian tennis circuit after a two-year absence.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the competition which was scheduled to hold in 2024 will now hold from 3-9 February, 2025.

Our correspondent also gathered that the tournament which is one of the biggest national competition in terms of prize money, will be holding inside the tennis section of the prestigious Ikoyi Club 1938.

The competition will come as a huge relief to players who had been craving tournaments since the Dala Hard Court championship ended in Kano last year.

The question on the lips of the players had been whether or not the Rainoil event would hold and when it would be taking place.

Nigeria Tennis Live can now confirm that the event is scheduled to hold in February, immediately after Nigeria’s Davis Cup outing in South Africa.

Some of the players prosecuting the Davis Cup competition are expected to participate in the Rainoil Championship on their return from the tennis World Cup event.
