Team Nigeria has emerged as the overall best country at the just concluded ITF/CAT West & Central Africa Junior Tennis Championship in Lome, Togo.

The Nigerian youngsters had won three titles in the Individual event which kicked off the competition before wrapping it up with exceptional performances in the Team event which ended on Sunday, 19 January, 2025.

At the end of the team event, Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the Nigeria won the boys and girls U-14 team events with emphatic victories. While the U-16 boys came second in the team event, their female counterparts came third.

The nine countries participated in the week-long event include Burkina Faso, Benin Republic, Ghana, Togo, Mali, Cameroon, Guinea, Cote D’Ivoire and Nigeria.

After emerging as the winner of the boys and girls’ U-14 team events alongside other results from the other teams, Nigeria returned with a massive 1120 points. Cameroon came second with 865 points while Benin Republic occupied the third place with 610 points.

The victorious Nigerian team are expected back to the country on Monday, 20 January, 2025 as some of them are expected to participate in the TPPA-UTR event holding inside the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja.

Nigeria Tennis Live will be on ground to welcome the youngsters back to the country after an eventful outing in Togo.
