But at this time, as at 17 October, 2023, the highest ranked Nigerian female junior tennis player on the ITF Rankings, is Ohunene Yakubu.
Already, much has been said about this youngster who does not seize to amaze tennis observers with her performances time and again.
Despite not playing any Junior ITF competition in about two weeks, the 15-year-old keeps holding on to the number one spot on the rankings which is being updated every week, based on performances and tournament results.

Ohunene, who is currently based in Tunisia, where she is continuing with her tennis development and education at the ITF High Performance Centre is rated 855 in the world after dropping three spots on the rankings recently released.
If she is able to play more ITF competitions before the end of the year and continues with her consistency, it won’t be long before she hits the 500 in the world.
This development will also, no doubt, pit her among the top ranked female junior players in Africa, most of whom she has come up against in the junior competitions she has played in.
