Wheelchair Tennis: Nigeria’s Alex Adewale Targets Top 100 As World Team Cup Qualifiers Kick Off In Kenya

After putting up superlative performances in the recently Nairobi Open Tennis Futures in Kenya, Alex Adewale has set his sights on ranking in the top 100 players of the world.

The Edo State player who won gold at the 2018 National Sports Festival in Abuja, was ranked 145 before the commencement of the competition, but ended up as the 135th best Wheelchair tennis player in the world.

In a chat with Nigeria Tennis Live from Kenya, the man fondly referred to as Osama explained that his target for the forthcoming tournament is a top 100 finish.

According to him: “I am hoping for the best in this tournament because it’s a 50/50 chance for us and the people we’re playing against.

“Our match against South Africa will be an outright competition between us and world’s no 40 ranked player and the number two in world juniors, so it will be quite tough.

“But we are up to the task and we believe that we can deliver the goods when it is required of us.”

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs on the developments in Nairobi as the entire country focuses on the 2019 presidential election which is taking place on the same day.
