Update: Mofifunoluwa Eases Into Semis As Azimuth Tourney Hots Up In Lagos
Top Nigerian junior tennis starlet, Mofifunoluwa Atilola, has eased her way into the semifinals of the Girls U-12 at the Azimuth Shipping Lines Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos.
The youngster, one of the most experienced players in her age category across the federation, will be playing for a place in the finals of the event against Success Godwin while Prosper Ohimai will contend against Joy Emmanuel for the second slot in the finals.
Success will be relishing an opportunity to get one past her opponent whom she had lost against during their last encounter at the Sapetro Junior Tennis competition, also in Lagos.
Nigeria Tennis Live reports that the Boys U-12 category has reached the quarterfinal stage with many of the players anticipating the next round of matches already.
Despite the movement in other age categories, however, the Boys and Girls U14 & 16 seem to be playing catch up with their younger counterparts.

While the Boys U-14 category is already in the second round, the Girls 14, 16 and Boys 16 will serve off in full swing on Wednesday, 17 January, 2024.
Players came into the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club. Onikan from every part of the country to participate in the competition which served off on Monday, 14 January, and will end on Saturday, 20 January, 2024.
The Azimuth Juniors, regarded as Nigeria’s biggest and most keenly contested junior competition, gives prizes, trophies and education grants from the quarterfinal stage.
