Nigeria’s Davis Cup sensation, Canice Abua, has risen to the pinnacle of the Nigerian national rankings according to the newly-released rankings by the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF).
Abua, one of Nigeria’s finest tennis players, reached this height after clinching the Joseph Ikyaator Open Tennis Championship in Makurdi, Benue, in December, 2025.
However, the rankings had not been updated to reflect his new status, until a recent confirmation by the Nigeria Tennis Federation. With his current 815 points, Abua has pushed Daniel Adeleye (640 points), erstwhile number one player, to second place.
