Sylvester Emmanuel has secured a place in the final qualifying round of the ongoing ITF Futures in Monastir, Tunisia, after defeating Lorenzo Brunetti from Italy in two straight sets of 6-4, 6-3.
Nigerian Tennis Live reports that this win is coming from a rejuvenated Sylvester who suffered a slight knock to his ankle in the first qualifying round in the final match to lead him to the main draw of the $15,000 tournament.

After his defeat of the Italian, the 2018 Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) winner is set to face another Italian player, Christian Felline, in the final qualifying match which will guarantee him a spot in the Main Draw of the tournament.
Our correspondent had reported that the Nigerian number two male tennis star embarked on the trip to Tunisia to continue his preparations ahead of the 2018 Lagos Open International Tennis Championship holding from 29 September till 13 October inside the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.
The Nigerian tennis star is hopeful of a participation in this year’s ITF Futures in Lagos after missing out on the last edition to a last minute injury – a situation which also slowed down his pace in the sport for a significant period.
