NCC Tennis League: Team Civil Defence Decimate Offikwu, Set Up Final Clash With Muller

The third edition of the NCC Tennis League will definitely witness a new winner after the heroics of team Civil Defence in their weekend encounter against Team Offikwu.

The match had been dubbed the final before finals but it barely lived up to its expectation as it was a one-sided affair which was totally dominated by Team Civil Defence whose joy knew no bounds after victory.

Nigerian Tennis Live gathered that the Anambra-based team were already bossing a 3-1 lead on Saturday and had the final say when they routed the defending champions 3-0 on Sunday to have the last laugh.

Clifford Enosoregbe was in a killer mood during the encounter over the weekend.

Abdulmumin Babalola and Clifford Enosoregbe were both on fire for the Civil Defence side, winning their matches ruthlessly and dominating on the court.

All of these did not go without dramas on the court as Sylvester Emmanuel was left frustrated and had to smash his racket, same as Babalola, but the encounter – which was watched by many tennis fans in Abuja – turned out to be an entertaining one with so much emotional outbursts.

With this win, Team Offikwu will now battle team Ndoma-Egba for the third place as both teams look to get some form of compensation after missing out on getting to the finals.

Team Muller, led by one of Nigeria’s finest players at the moment, Joseph Imeh, will be hoping to continue their roller coaster ride against their opponents as they were the last to beat Team Civil Defence in the League this season.

Nigerian Tennis Live will monitor the finals and send in reports from the encounter which holds in Lagos over the weekend
