Mr. Godwin Kienka, the director of the International Tennis Academy (ITA), organiser of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) Tennis League, has expressed his excitement with the level of players at the tournament so far.
The former ITF umpire who has officiated in various international tournaments including the prestigious Davis Cup, noted that the players have showed that with regular practice and competition, nothing is impossible.
Some of the players in action during the official launch of the NCC Tennis League in Lagos.
In an exclusive chat with Naija Tennis Special, Mr. Kienka informed that, “the players’ standard has improved dramatically and everybody is aware of that.
“You can also see that in the recent successes recorded by the young ones who were able to defeat their more experienced counterparts at the Dala tournament and how effective they are now.
“I believe that there is room for improvement with subsequent tournaments and the continuation of the NCC Tennis League.
“We are really grateful to our sponsors and believe that they will do more for us in the raquet games.”
The NCC Tennis League final holds on Friday and Saturday, 4 & 5 December, 2015 at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club (LLTC), Onikan, Lagos.
