After her impressive performance at the Grade 3 ITF Junior Circuit in Megrine, Tunisia, Oyinlomo Quadre has said that she hopes to one day, surpass the achievements of legendary Serena Williams.

The Nigerian nightmare stunned all her opponents at the tournament, defeating difficult players and top seeds in the process, to emerge with the biggest title of her career.

Quadre who is presently ranked 320 in the world, revealed in a voice note she sent to Nigeria Tennis Live, that winning the tournament is about the best response to the difficult moments she’s experienced in recent months, especially since she played on clay court most of the time.

According to her: “Normally, the farthest I have ever gone in a Grade 3 is the second round, so I am really happy.

    • Oyinlomo Quadre receives her trophy from the organizers of the tournament after her incredible win.

“I am really excited to see my new ranking as well.

“I am so happy with this latest achievement because this year has really been a tough one; there’s been a lot of ups and downs for me so this tournament really meant a lot to me.”

The Morocco-based tennis kid further explained her future plans, noting that the past few weeks have taught her a lot. She also expressed her desire to maintain her pursuit of Serena Williams’s Grand Slam titles.

“I’m looking forward to the next few tournaments, clay, hard, grass; whichever surface there is, I am ready.

“My dreams remain the same. I want to be a professional tennis player, I want to win grand slams someday, and I know I still have a long way to go but I’m not stopping yet.

“I’m not going to stop until I get there. And getting there… I don’t think I’m ever going to get there because my aim is to achieve more than Serena has done.

“Maybe one day, I’ll be sitting here with 26 Grand Slams and still feel like I’m not there, that’s what I mean. I don’t think I’m ever going to be done. I’m not stopping, I’m going to keep going.

“I’ll like to say thank you to everyone; the organizers of the tournament in Tunisia and to the Grand Slam development fund for helping me achieving this feat.

“I’ll like to thank everyone who has had an impact this week. My coaches, the journalist who’s reporting all these, my friends, my family… I’ll like to thank everyone,”the 15-year-old teenager explained.
