The Mambilla Barracks, Abuja centre of the ongoing UTR Tournament, came alive today as players came out in their number to participate in the competition.
Nigeria Tennis Live reports that the coordinator for the region, Coach Isiaka Oshioke, confirmed that Nasarawa also produced a player in the competition, with the inclusion of a player from Benue State.
The Abuja leg of the UTR competition is one of venues for the regional editions of the tournament organized by the Tennis Players Parents Association (TPPA) for tennis players to get tennis ratings in the country.

And after confirming their registration on Monday, 30 October, 2023, the tournament officially kicked off on Tuesday, 31 October with the 12 & Unders inside the Mambilla Tennis Courts, Mambilla Barracks Officers Mess, Asokoro Abuja.
As at the time of filing this report, updates from other venues across other regions were still being expected.
Our correspondent gathered, also, that the Onitsha centre would be starting on 2 November, 2023, as against 31 October that other centres started.
But other centres across Nigeria indicated that they would be starting on Tuesday, 31 October, 2023, even though they had yet to send in updates from their regions as at press time.
