Kwange, Bello Dominate UTR Tournament Regionals In Niger
Elisha Kwange and his sister, Emmanuella, were the stars of the just concluded regional UTR Tournament organized by the Tennis Players Parents Association (TPPA) in Niger State.
The players from the popular tennis-playing Kwange family made sure to obtain the maximum UTR points from the competition held in their State for the very first time.
While Emmanuella won the girls 14 final, her brother, Elisha, emerged as the best U-16 player during the competition which was concluded over the weekend inside the Niger College of Education in Minna.
It was a tale of two brothers fighting in the boys 14 finale as Yahuza and his brother Shamsudeen Bello slugged it out in the final.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered, however, that it was Shamsudeen who came out tops in the encounter, even though he’ll be traveling with his brother to Lagos for the Nationals in December.
In the boys 12 finale, Adekunle Love got the better of Saliyu Aliyu to clinch the gold medal and amass the maximum points before heading out to Lagos for the grand finale.
The TPPA-organized event in Niger State was nothing short of exciting for the players who participated, many of whom we gathered, are just picking their first ever UTR points.
Nigerian tennis followers and enthusiasts will be looking forward to seeing the players in action when all their other colleagues gather for the biggest UTR event of the year in Lagos State in December.
