Nikola Jovic from Serbia ensured he got his revenge against Nigerian teenage sensation, David Ekpenyong, at the J100 Boys’ final event in Accra, Ghana.

The Serbian number two seed at the week-long event in Ghana had lost the final of the J60 event to the Nigerian player and as fate would have it, squared up against the Nigerian for the final of the J100 event.

Jovic ended up getting one past his Nigerian counterpart in Ghana, pipping Ekpenyong, the number three seed in two straight sets of 6-1, 6-2.

With this loss, the talented Nigerian player is now chasing his first ever J100 event title after falling short when he got to the finals in Quebec, Canada.

Luckily, he has a chance to redeem his image as the dreaded African junior sensation when the second week of the J100 event kicks off next week.

Hard luck on the day for the Nigerian number one player, but he has always proven to spring surprises when it’s least expected and it looks likely that he will get back to it.

Nigerians will be trusting the CBN Senior Open Tennis Championship defending champion to deliver the goods when the second week of the J100 tournament kicks off.
