Nigeria Tennis Live can report that the Masters Tennis Tour event scheduled to hold from 1 July, 2024, in Abuja, has been canceled.
The tournament organized for mature players from age 35 and above, was meant to start in Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital, on Monday, 1 July, but it has now been canceled.
Checks on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) website show that the event has now been effectively unlisted as one of the events billed to hold in July.

A few days ago, the tournament had yet to get a single entry online as revealed by the ITF website, despite the announcement about the event dating months back.
However, a recent check by Nigeria Tennis Live showed that the event will no longer be holding as planned.
Although there are no immediate explanations for the cancelation, there are chances that the competition which was scheduled to make its debut in Nigeria, must have been stopped due to lack of participation by Nigerians.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) for their reactions on the reasons for the cancelation proved futile as calls put through to the secretariat were not picked.
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep our readers updated on the latest information about the Masters Tennis Tour tournament and if a new date will be announced for the competition.
