J100 Harare: Adeleye, Ogunsakin, Yakubu In Main Draw

Nigeria’s trio of Daniel Adeleye, Seun Ogunsakin and Ohunene Yakubu are presently in Harare, Zimbabwe, where they are playing a J100 event.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the three players are playing in the Main Draw of the competition holding in southern part of Africa as the teenagers continue their tennis development.

Adeleye, Nigeria’s highest ranked junior player on the ITF ranking, is the tournament’s number seven seed and is competing in his third J100 event.

The Davis Cup player who left Nigeria after helping his compatriots gain promotion to World Group II will be looking to build on his recent J60 win and hope to win his first ever J100 title.

Ogunsakin who lost in the J60 event last weekend, is also in the Main Draw of the event as the tournament’s number eight seed.

The former African U-14 number one player will be looking at winning his first ever J100 title as he continues his adventure in Zimbabwe.

The only Nigerian girl in the tournament, Ohunene Yakubu, is the number 16 seed and will be playing her first match against Zimbabwe’s Kupakwashe Dilia Kanyore who reached the Main Draw via the qualifying rounds.

Yakubu who won her first ever J60 title in Abuja a few months ago is outrightly Nigeria’s highest ranked female player on the ITF ranking by a mile, and will seek to continue that dominance in Harare.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs on the youngsters as they try to build on their world rankings in the coming weeks as they seek bigger opportunities.
