The widely-traveled coach fondly referred to as Coach Kay told Naija Tennis Special shortly before their departure for Madiba’s country that Edwards, one of Nigeria’s shining stars to the junior championship, was in high spirits going into the tournament.
Savage told our correspondent that although he is not in the right position to comment on the anticipated performance of his ‘student’, however, he believes that she has done enough in training to make her stand out in Pretoria.
“Love has worked really hard in training, so I expect nothing short of the best from her when they start the competition.
“It is one of the first major ITF outings for her and I hope she can make the best out of it and grow even better. She still has many years of tennis ahead of her so I expect the very from her as we shall also be cheering her from the stands,” the assistant national coach for wheelchair tennis stated at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport before departure.
The tournament is billed to hold at the ITF High Performance Centre, Pretoria from 8-19 March, 2016.
