Hephzibah Oluwadare Stuns Dutch Player, Sets Sight On Wimbledon Q/final

Hephzibah Oluwadare has won her second match at the ongoing Junior Wimbledon Championship in the United Kingdom after stunning her opponent.

This win means she has now surpassed her best record at previous Junior Grand Slam outings where she has been unable to progress beyond R32.

The British player of Nigerian descent was at her very best when she played her first round match against Kaitlyn Rolls, who was representing the United States of America, as she beat the no. 12 seed in two straight sets.

Oluwadare, 16, proved that the first round win was no fluke, as she won a very difficult second round match against Rose Marie Nijkamp.

The British youngster defeated the world number 32 ranked player in two sets which ended 6-3, 7-5, sending her to the third round of the elite junior tennis competition where she stands a chance of reaching the quarterfinal on Wednesday.

The wild card entrant into the Championship, ranked 109 in the world juniors, will be playing her third round match against the winner between number five seed, Hannah Klugman (also British) and Poland’s Monika Stankiewicz.

A win for Oluwadare will secure her passage to the quarterfinal of the prestigious Junior Grand Slam event which is attracting all the best junior players from across the globe.
