Hard Fighting Ogunshakin Overpowers Stubborn Beninoise As Nigeria Kicks Off AJC Qualifiers In Style
Seun Ogunshakin from Nigeria, set the tone for Nigeria’s participation at the U-12 Africa Junior Tennis Championship qualifiers in Benin Republic, as he got the team off to a blistering win.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that Ogunshakin, who won the Azimuth Shipping Lines Junior Tennis Championship early this year, was made to fight for his win against his unyielding opponent from Benin Republic.
Information made available by the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) has it that Ogunshakin defeated Kakpo Pacome of Benin Republic in two straight sets of 6-3, 7-5 in a keenly contested affair.
Reports say Seun took the 1st set 6-3, but had to fight from 4-5 down in the 2nd set to clinch win 7-5.
With this result, Nigeria has an edge over the home boys as the Abdulmumin Babalola-led team keeps the pressure on other participating teams in the competition as qualification for the bigger event beckons.
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep up with the updates from the qualifying series taking place in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
