FACT CHECK: Oyinlomo Moves 10 Places, Now Ranked 12th Best Female Tennis Youngster In Africa
In spite of her recent struggles on the court, Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadre is now ranked Africa’s 12th best female junior tennis player, Nigeria Tennis Live fact checks have revealed.
The youngster who has had to bow out at critical stages of the tournaments she has played in recently, has also moved ten places to place as the 319 best player in the world after her performances at the recent Grade 3 ITF Junior Circuit in Morocco.
According to the Junior World ITF ranking that was released on 18 March, the Nigerian youngster is trailing some of her counterparts whom she faced at recent tournaments, some of whom she defeated and some whom she fell to.
With the recent rankings and the player also entering to play another Grade 3 ITF Junior Circuit next week, there are chances she may shoot into the top 300 in the world and rise on the African scene as well.
Recall that Quadre’s struggles were confirmed when she expressed her frustrations at not getting her coach (Abel Ubiebi) at her disposal, especially when she could not figure out things by herself on the court.
Nigerians will be hoping that she hits top form early enough with the quality of matches that she has been playing, and raise the bar when the chips are down.
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep monitoring the youngster’s activities in Morocco, where she is presently continuing her tennis development at the country’s High Performance Centre.
