BREAKING! Ogunsakin Breaks Into Top 400 In Latest World Junior Rankings

Seun Ogunsakin has moved into the top 400 players’ spot in the latest World Junior Ranking released by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

The former African U-14 number one player, ranked 529 as at 17 June, 2024 after winning the J30 Bizerte event in Tunisia has moved further upwards the rankings after the new rankings were released on Monday, 24 June, 2024.

Ogunsakin won the Boys’ Singles and Doubles event at the J60 Carthage competition in Tunisia last weekend and must have been looking forward to the new rankings.

The Ekiti-born youngster who has now won five junior ITF titles in 2024, moved 158 spots in the newly-released rankings and is now the world 371st ranked player on the planet.

With this latest ranking, Ogunsakin who won his first ever J60 title in Tunisia over the weekend, has also sneaked into the top 20 African Junior players in the world.

He is only bested in the top 20 by Daniel Adeleye, who holds down number 15 spot among the African Junior players on the ITF ranking while Ogunsakin is 17th on the log.

Our correspondent gathered that the youngster is billed to play J60 and J100 events in Zimbabwe in the coming weeks, and stand a chance to further boost his rankings.
