After Ghana Exploits, Oiza, Phillips Storm Togo For Junior ITF Circuit
Oiza Yakubu, Abayomi Philips, Emmanuel Jebutu and Joshua Aji, four Nigerian tennis starlets are competing in the girl’s singles category and the boy’s singles event respectively.
No fewer than four Nigerian tennis youngsters are competing at the ITF/CAT Circuit Junior De L’Afrique De L’Ouest, a Grade 5 hard-court event in Lome, Togo which kicked off on Monday, 2 September.
The event which will end on 7 September at the AAT Club & Stade Omnisports Eyadema in Lome will feature the Nigerian youngsters who recently participated at the GTFLifetime Athletic Open in Accra, Ghana.
Abayomi Philips who won the GTFLifetime Athletic Open last week is joined by Joshua Aji who bowed out in the second round; both of whom are looking forward to a great tournament.
For 15-year-old Emmanuel Jebutu, this is his first ITF Circuit Championship this year, and he hopes to make it a good impression on his fans with this competition.
On her own part, rising female tennis youngster, Oiza Yakubu, who was a quarter-finalist at the GTFLifetime Open in Ghana last week, is one of the Nigerian players expected to shine at the competition.
