Nigeria’s only player in the second round of the ongoing Tombim Abuja Open, the first 2019 ITF World Tour event in Nigeria, Sylvester Emmanuel, will come up against Benjamin Lock of Zimbabwe for a place in the quarterfinals.

Nigeria Tennis Live reported yesterday that the former Barcelona, Spain-based Star defeated a Ukrainian player in two straight sets to book his place in the second round.

With this result, the Nigerian number one star will work his socks out in the match against Lock, one of the tournament’s top seeds, if he must have a place in the quarterfinals.

Nigerians will be more concerned about their number one player advancing to the next round of the $25,000+H tournament which ends this weekend.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs on the happenings in Nigeria’s federal capital territory, Abuja.
