Nigeria Tennis Ranking 2023: Oparaoji, Marylove Top Men, Women Rankings
Sensational Uche Oparaoji from Imo State is Nigeria’s number ranked player going into the three weeks of national tournaments in Nigeria.
Oparaoji who won the Dala and Rainoil national events in the last tennis season, sits atop the national rankings for the first time since he burst into the national scene with exceptional performances.
The southpaw player now goes into the new week as the undisputed number one star and the player to beat as the national competitions serve off in Abuja.
Also, Marylove Edwards returned to the summit of the national rankings after falling off for a while due to some not so favourable results from competitions.
She sits comfortably on the rankings, leading the closest player to her – Ayegbusi Anu – by almost 200 points.
The former Florida, US-based youngster will be the cynosure of all eyes when the tournaments serve off this weekend in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital.
The VEMP Open, DAVENOTCH and CBN Senior Open Championships will serve off in Abuja from Friday, 5 April, with the preliminary matches, and run till 27 April, 2023.
