Oyinlomo Quadre will have to trade tackles against the same player she defeated to land in the main draw when Round 1 matches kick off at the ongoing Monastir ITF Tour in Tunisia.
The talented Nigerian teenager who has been sensational in the competition had been ousted from the second leg of the tournament after a poor display.
She told Nigeria Tennis Live from Tunisia, that she was really sad and disappointed with her own performance on the day, and did not deserve to win.
“One of those matches where you come out of court really disappointed. I played so bad, I didn’t go for it, it was windy. There were a lot of things I did wrong.
“Honestly I think she’s a good player because I mean playing like this, I can get away with it sometimes but I couldn’t this time.
“I think I hit about two forehand the whole match cause the whole time I was making mistakes while hesitating,” an obviously disappointed Quadre had said.
But the World’s 959 ranked player on the WTA made up for her mistakes by playing through the qualifying stages and has now breezed into the Main Draw.
She defeated Stacey Fung from Canada 6-4, 6-4 in her last qualifying game, but the Canadian managed to qualify for the Main Draw as one of the lucky losers.
So, Quadre will have to be at her best to see off the quite competitive player who was the number four seed for the qualifying draws. The Nigerian was number 10.
Their match will not be played earlier than 10:30am as scheduled on the ITF website, and all eyes will be on the Nigerian number one to be at her very best.
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs on the player’s performance in Tunisia, and report updates to our teeming readers across the globe.
