The Ekiti-born youngster also won the Boys 16 final, defeating his opponent 9-0 in a clear game of supremacy for the young southpaw player.

These wins have now spurred Ogunshakin into believing that someday, he will play against his idol and defeat him in a tennis match.

“Years ago, I had planned that I’d play in two categories when I up my game and build nyself, and that was what happened today (Saturday).

“Eventhough the plan wasn’t to play the U-16s this year, I just thought to give it a try, and God was so good to me that I won both,” the confident youngster began in an interview with Nigeria Tennis Live.

Explaining further, he said: “I trained so hard before coming for this tournament and I was looking forward to defeating any player, even those who are older.

“I felt more at ease playing the U-16s than the U-14s because I had nothing to lose or prove.”

The excited youngster who loves Nigerian legend, Abdulmumin Babalola, for his style of play, noted that he would love the opportunity to play against top world superstar Rafael Nadal.

“I hope to play against him, and even beat him very soon.

“But this can only happen if I get someone to sponsor me and take me out of this country so that people can see me out there.

“My ultimate goal is to become a world superstar in tennis,” the ambitious 12-year-old explained.
