    Ogunsakin, Nine Other Nigerians Star In ITF Competitions Across Africa

    Seun Ogunsakin is one of the biggest names among the Nigerian tennis youngsters playing junior ITF competitions across Africa.

    The Ekiti-born tennis sensation, made history last weekend after becoming the first Nigerian player to win two J100 titles during his 6-2, 7-5 defeat of India’s Samarth Sahita to lift the title in Pretoria, South Africa.

    In his third consecutive competition in South Africa, Ogunsakin will be playing the J200 Pretoria event, starting with a first round match up against Artem Semenov from Russia.

    His Nigerian counterpart, Prosperity Ikenna Okonkwo with whom he partnered to win the J100 Doubles in Pretoria, is also in the Main Draw of the J200 event in South Africa and will be up against home player Reuben De Klerk also in the first round.

    Lucky Danjuma, a Doubles finalist at the first leg of the ongoing J30 Accra, is the number one seed in the second leg of the ongoing J30 Accra where Nigeria’s Mubarak Ganiyu is also a participant.

    Ohunene Yakubu who won the first leg of the J30 Accra event, is the number two seed at the event for the second leg and she is joined by finalist, Khadijat Mohammed, in the Main Draw.

    Other Nigerians in the Main Draw include sisters Omoyinka and Abimbola Ayinla, Emmanuella Kwange and Jos-based Suwa Nenrot to bring the total number of Nigerians playing junior ITF events across Africa to ten.
