The Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) is gearing up for the fast approaching ITF National Coaching Course event in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The NTF Secretary, Shamma Makpa, had sent out a circular informing coaches and prospective coaches about the event and shared the details as well.
The circular obtained by Nigeria Tennis Live reads in part: “The Nigeria Tennis Federation is pleased to announce that the ITF National Level 1 Coaching Course is scheduled to hold during the month of April, 2025.

“Therefore, I am directed to invite all interested participants (coaches) to register for the coaching course through the Nigeria Tennis Federation.
“Date: 14th – 23rd April, 2025; Venue: Tennis Centre, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja; Course Fee: N200,000”
Interested participants are expected to make payment on or before 7 April, 2025 as the NTF will be providing subsidy in terms of accommodation to participants outside Abuja.

In a recent chat with Mr. Makpa, Nigeria Tennis Live has now gathered that the NTF has stepped up preparations for the event as multiple people have reached out to find out about the coaching course.
“We are currently working and preparing for the coaching course event here in Abuja. Not fewer than 20 persons have already called to find out details of the event.
“I cannot confirm the number of people who have registered yet, but people have started registering and we are looking forward to more registrations because we want to expose our coaches to these trainings,” the NTF Secretary-General told our correspondent.
