Back-To-Back Champions! Blue Leopards Win Predators League Again

Blue Leopards have emerged winner of Heritage Tennis Club’s Predators League for the second consecutive time, Nigeria Tennis Live can report.

The defending champions ensured that they held on to their title during the league event which held on Saturday, 30 November, 2024.

The Predators League was organized by the Heritage Tennis Club, LSDPC Housing Estate, Phase IV, Ogba, Lagos, to commemorate the reopening of their newly renovated court which had been out of use for a while, and it was a day to remember for the club.

Four teams, Black Panthers, Blue Leopards, Red Tigers and White Lions participated in what was referred to as the Top-Up League with the defending champion, Blue Leopards storming to a narrow win.

Black Panthers, Red Tigers and White Lions came second, third and fourth in that order.

Members of the club were excited about their new court with one of them simply identified as Mike, saying: “I love the new court. The dead ball areas have been fixed”.

Yomi Akinyemi, the captain of the tennis club fondly called CAPO, noted that “For me, it’s the joint new court name. Aryna now onboard”.

“May God almighty continue to protect and bless us so that every time we play here, there will not be injuries.

“Nobody will die on this court, what we’ll be having on this court are some winners and some losers,” one of the Board of Trustee members also said as he cut the ribbon to unveil the newly-renovated court.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the club spent about N3million to renovate the court and put up the event which we gathered is being held on a quarterly basis.

“We hold big tournaments like this every quarter but smaller programs (different tournament varieties) happen every month,” Club Captain Akinyemi stated.
