ATP Live Rankings: Bulus Makes Giant Leap In Latest Update

Nigeria’s Christopher Bulus has made a quantum leap after his quarterfinal appearance at the M15 Xativa event in Tunisia last week.

The Nigerian who is steadily hoisting the country’s flag on the ATP rankings was ranked 1227 as at the time the competition was going on last week.

However, after reaching the quarterfinals on the Men’s tennis tour for the first time ever, the 23-year-old Davis Cup player has progressed massively on the ATP rankings.

Even though it is yet to be made official, the former Lagos-based tennis star moved 81 places to place 1145 on the log of world tennis rankings.

His highest ever ranking spot is 1125 which he achieved early in 2024 after some unbelievable tennis on the tour.

And the Nigerian, having done exceptionally well during the Davis Cup event in Nigeria, and helping his country gain promotion to the World Group II playoffs, is now on course to reaching even greater heights.

Bulus, whose highlight at the Davis Cup was when he defeated Benjamin Lock of Zimbabwe, a top 400 player, in Abuja, is scheduled to play a number of tournaments in the coming weeks as he looks to break the top 1000 barrier in the world tennis rankings.

His recent performances, including reaching the quarterfinal of the tournament in Spain despite starting from the qualifying rounds, is an indication that he’s on the upward move.
