Nigerian players will have to travel to the southern part of Africa for this year’s Davis Cup Africa Group III Qualifiers, Nigeria Tennis Live has gathered.
Recall that this medium reported the five countries confirmed for this year’s Africa Group III event namely Algeria, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe.
And on Friday, 4 April, 2025, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) released the host and dates for the competition.

According to information obtained on the Davis Cup website, Zimbabwe, one of the countries that reached the World Group II Playoffs but lost out, will be hosting the event in August. 2025.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the event will commence on the week of 11 August, and will run for a week with three nations gaining promotion while two will be relegated to Africa Group IV.

There had been talks about Nigeria hosting the Africa Group III Qualifiers for a second consecutive year, but all of those may have been put to rest now following this new development.

“There will be five teams competing in Africa Group III in 2025: Algeria, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe. The nations finishing first, second and third in the pool will be promoted to the World Group II Play-offs in 2026.
“The teams finishing fifth and sixth will be relegated to Africa Group IV in 2026. Three promoted; two relegated,” the information on the Davis Cup website read.
