    Players From China, Australia, GBR, Ghana Set For J30 Abuja

    Nigeria will be playing host to players from different parts of the world as the J30 Abuja event takes centre stage in the federal capital.

    For the third time in 2024, Nigeria will be hosting a Junior ITF event which is a flagship tournament of the International Tennis Federation to help junior players gain global rankings.

    Checks on the ITF website by Nigeria Tennis Live revealed that while the acceptance list is dominated by Nigerians, players from Ghana, Great Britain, Australia, China and Benin Republic have also indicated their interests in participating in the event.

    As at Friday, 31 May, 2024, the players from different parts of the world are listed on the website of the international tennis governing body for the J30 Abuja competition.

    Nigeria’s Daniel Adeleye is the boys’ top seed for the competition, as he remains Nigeria’s highest ranked player on the Junior ITF rankings, while Ohunene Yakubu stays on top of the girls’ rankings and is the top seed.

    Youngsters like Seyi Ogunsakin, David Edwards, Jeremiah Benjamin, among others, are also expected to participate in the competition.

    Alisha Ndukwu from the United Kingdom, a regular face on the junior tennis circuit, is also listed to participate in the competition which is one of two weeks Nigeria will be hosting in the month of June, 2024.
