Nigerian junior players are the top-ranked players at the J30 Abuja competition which serves off inside the tennis section of the National Stadium in Abuja.

Daniel Adeleye leads the pack in the male event as he is the highest ranked player in the tournament with a world number 344 ranking.

The Ekiti-born Adeleye can reach the top 100 in the world if he reenacts the same form he serenaded tennis followers with in 2023 and get even better.

While players from Namibia, USA, China and Taipei are also contesting for honours in Nigeria, the Nigerian players will fancy an opportunity to ensure they win the tournament.

In the girls event, Ohunene Yakubu, is expectedly the top seed as she is the highest ranked female player in the tournament.

Yakubu, one of the best juniors in Nigeria will strive to maintain her status as the topmost junior player on the ITF when she comes up against the likes of Etoro Bassey, Khadijat Mohammed – who won a Senior national tournament in 2023, Destiny Okhinaye, et al.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep our readers up to date on the events happening inside the national stadium as they unfold.

The J30 Abuja is a two-week event certified by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) which will end on 25 February, 2024.
