US-based Nigerian tennis player, Jumai Muhammed, who is currently vacationing in Nigeria, has revealed what she misses the most about the country.

The Clark Atlanta University student who recently emerged on the Dean’s List for undergraduates in the institution arrived Nigeria a few weeks ago over to renew her visa.

Muhammed has since been training at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, Lagos, where she was hitting balls before her trip to the United States a few years ago.

In a brief discussion with Nigeria Tennis Live on the lounge inside the Club, she spoke about how she had missed Nigeria a lot after staying away for about two years.

“It felt so good to see my family and loved ones again. And everyone at the club.

“I was just eating a lot of things, like swallow which I wasn’t eating before. I just miss Nigerian food,” the buzzing tennis player stated.

On how her mother felt after getting to see her for the first time in two years, Muhammed said: “She was so surprised and happy, praising God when she saw me again, she thought I wouldn’t be back until after five years.”

“I came to renew my visa and to use the opportunity to see my loved ones and to take a short break from tennis.”

Visa renewal is always a nervous moment for travelers and the US-based player was not an exception. However, she easily got her visa renewed and can now be sure of her return to the US.

“I was kind of nervous but I was confident that I would get it. Until I got it, I wasn’t coming outside,” Jumai told Nigeria Tennis Live while breaking into a laughter.

She is expected back to school in a few weeks as she remains in Nigeria to continue her vacation.
