The inaugural Zenith Bank “Nextgen” Junior Tennis Masters witnessed a flurry of upsets as the round robin matches starting on a very high tempo.
With the best eight players divided into two round robin groups for both boys and girls, Emmanuel Jebutu the least ranked player in the Boy’s Group B, beat group second seed Stephen Augustine 9-7. Michael Ayoola followed by beating Godgift Timibra, the No.1 player of the group 9-6.

National Boys’ 18 champion Michael Oshewa, heading Group A was in no mood to suffer any upset as he completely overwhelmed Gabriel Friday, the Boys’ 16 champion 9-1.
In a Girls’ Group B round robin match, Omolade Aderemi defeated Kasara Adegboyega 9-1.
The Zenith Bank “Nextgen” Junior Tennis masters which is taking place at the National Stadium Surulere will feature round robin matches until Friday when two players will emerge from each group to play in the semifinals. Matches start at 10 am each day.
The final is scheduled for Saturday starting 10 am at the same venue.
