US-based Marylove To Start Junior ITF Circuit In Rwanda As No. 6 Seed
Nigeria’s Marylove Edwards will start a junior ITF Circuit in Kigali, Rwanda, as the number six seed.
According to information obtained by Nigeria Tennis Live, the Nigerian youngster will be in action on clay court at the Grade 5 competition which kicks off on Monday, 17 June.
Ranked 1525 in the world, the US-based youngster will fancy her chances as she started as a second round player, having got a bye in the first round.
Edwards who’s on scholarship at the Nick Bolleteri Tennis Academy in the United States on the bills of the Temple Management company, will seek to bounce back from her sullen state on the Junior Circuit where she’s been off for a while.
Nigeria’s highest ranked player on the junior ITF Circuit is Oyinlomo Quadre, who jumped to top 200 in the world after impressive performances in tournaments in North Africa.
It is not sure if Edwards is in the junior championship to prepare for the fast approaching Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Tennis Open which kicks off soon in Nigeria’s federal capital.
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs on the 14-year-old’s performance in Kigali, where she will be slugging it out with other juniors.
