Reports reaching Nigeria Tennis Live have it that UK-based Apex Tennis Academy has completed the construction of two tennis and multipurpose courts in collaboration with Chalcedony School, Abijo G.R.A Lekki, Lagos.

This information was made available by Adesola Aderogba, the founder of the Academy, who explained that the tennis courts were built to further enhance the development of youngsters in the sport.

The UK-based professional tennis coach told our correspondent that: “the concept of long-term athlete development is something that the academy was established to introduce to Nigeria.

“A model which helped the former Eastern bloc and ex-Soviet states to produce numerous successful lawn tennis players is now being practised in Nigeria.

“Our vision is a long-term one and we need more corporate/individual sponsors. Our passion and commitment to lawn tennis specifically and sports in schools generally is unrivalled.”

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the official opening of the courts will take place on Sunday, 3 November, 2019, at the school premises.

Aderogba also noted that the event will be colorful as tennis stakeholders, big players are expected to participate in the event.
