Henry Atseye, Albert Bikom, Michael Moses, Thomas Out, Clifford Enosoregbe and Christian Paul all ensured the first round was not a jamboree for the foreigners as they picked valuable points off their more fancied and experienced counterparts.
In the early matches today, Enosoregbe and Paul will be in action while others play later in the day for a place in the Quarterfinals of the Tombim-sponsored Futures event.
Nigeria’s number one male tennis player, Enosoregbe and Paul are presently playing against top seeds to seek qualification to the second round of the maiden championship.

While Enosoregbe has a relatively easier fixture against number six seed, Deiton Baughman from the USA, Paul will have his hands full when he takes on number one seed, Nedunchezhiyan Jeevan from India.
As at the time of filing this report, the Package B of the National Stadium, Abuja was buzzing with people trying to catch a glimpse of hard-hitting Baughman and witty Jeevan, who has vowed to win the tournament.
