The players’ coach, Abel Ubiebi, who disclosed this information to our correspondent over the weekend, informed of how the deal was brokered with the American academy.
“There may be opportunity for college scholarship too. They got the scholarship as promising players who need better exposure and environment to blossom.
“Actually, I have been talking to him for some time now and he promise to help so he asked for my players this year and when I sent, he approved.
“He has promised that the boys who miss this trip will still be considered once we get our visa. So all things being equal, we should be here any moment from now,” he said.
The vastly-experiences coach also assured of his plans for the players in his academy. While ascribing their recent successes to God, he said: “Yes, I can say with all humility that by His Grace, Aces Tennis Academy always has a good plan for his players, if don’t go pro, we always try to put you in college.”
Naija Tennis Special gathered that the players are also being supported on this trip by South African Airways as revealed by their coach.
