‘There Are Chances That Babalola May Become Nigeria’s National Junior Tennis Coach’
Nigeria Tennis Live scoops have it that legendary Nigerian tennis superstar, Abdulmumin Babalola, may sometime in the nearest future emerge as the national junior tennis coach.
This much was revealed to our correspondent by Engr. ‘Dayo Akindoju, the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), during a brief chat over the weekend, as he explained details of Nigeria’s progress with securing the two-week Junior ITF Circuit tournament.
He noted that the Davis Cup captain who has been going through series of training was recently in charge of the Nigerian 12 & Under tennis team that came third at the AJC Qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin Republic, looks like a sure bet to one day emerge as the national junior tennis coach.
During the discussion with Nigeria Tennis Live, Engr. Akindoju who spoke about Nigeria’s performance at their recent outing, briefed also that: “There are chances that Babalola will become the new national junior tennis coach because he did really well with the junior players who went to Benin Republic.”
Babalola, who had also once told our correspondent that he would be willing to volunteer himself to visit the High Performance Centre in Nigeria as soon as we get one, may be relishing this opportunity as well.
