South African Grade 2 Junior ITF Circuit: Oyinlomo Expresses Doubt Over Participation
Following the recent reports of insecurity in South Africa following the recent Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other foreign nationals, Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadre may not participate in the forthcoming Junior ITF Circuit in Mandela’s country.
Nigeria Tennis Live had reported that the youngster was the number five seed for the competition which is scheduled to start from 9 – 14 September in Stellenbosch, even though she dropped 19 places on the recent Junior rankings.
But after posting the article, asking if Nigerians think she should attend the tournament, the youngster reacted to the report, stating that she was no longer sure about her attendance.
In a quick message to Nigeria Tennis Live, she explained that she was yet to get her visa to the country, that it has been difficult due to the ongoing crisis in South Africa.
She explained, however, that: “If I get it, then I will go. But it’s not sure yet.
“I will go for sure if I get my visa but it’s kind of impossible because of all this crisis in South Africa.”
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep up with the updates in the build up to the tournament and report her involvement in the competition as it hots up in South Africa.
